Community-Minded Introvert, Multitasking Mom, Duncan Hines Baker

Sarah Jaffe Kasdan works at the Mandel JCC of Cleveland as the Program Manager in the Jewish Life and Culture Department. At the J, Sarah creates young family programs, facilitates Jewish learning opportunities, and infuses Jewish content throughout the JCC’s programming departments. She is a Cleveland native, who attended Jewish day school and Jewish camps growing up. She studied Psychology and Elementary Education at Brandeis University. After working for a couple years as an elementary school teacher, Sarah decided to try her hand at informal Jewish education, and shifted to working with college students. Sarah and her husband Daniel worked as educators with the Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus at Cornell Hillel for five years where they taught classes, hosted Shabbat and holiday meals, planned social events, and mentored student leaders. After two children, and a desire to shift away from “college-student hours,” she returned to Cleveland to help create community at the JCC. She enjoys baking, listening to podcasts, and taking her kids to playgrounds.
