Zoe Hertz
Tutor, Reader and Writer, Community Connector and Facilitator

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brandeis University with a double Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology, and a minor in Education Studies. My past experiences include working as a teaching associate at the Lemberg Children’s Center and completing the Springboard Innovation Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon Hillel. At CMU Hillel, I founded and advised the High-Tech Israeli Business Conference, created and managed student educational fellowships, and taught a Hebrew class for students with varied experience. For the past several years, I’ve provided freelance essay consulting for students applying to college and medical school, and provided parent coaching.

When it comes to my work with students, I am passionate about providing the right exposure and encouragement needed for a well-rounded, personalized, and successful experience. Whether a student is developing their resume, focused on college applications, or steadfastly planning a gap year, through our work they will learn to share and utilize their own story to inform their continued personal narration.

When I’m off work, I am a budding novelist, traveler with a love of capturing moments through photography, and craftswoman constantly learning a new trade. I’ve always been a transplant. I grew up splitting my time between Israel and Philadelphia, and have since lived in Boston, Copenhagen, Pittsburgh, and now the California Bay Area. This transience has shown me that a full life involves learning how to cement together the varied elements of our identities. My personal endeavor to bridge the gaps between myriad ambitions, cultures, and communities strongly informs my work with emerging adults who are managing the same responsibilities.
