Matthew Schultz graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 2010, where he studied creative writing and English literature. After a short stint teaching in New York City, he moved to Tel Aviv where he worked as a teacher and a freelance writer/editor. In 2017, he began working with the Jewish Journal of Los Angeles as a content editor, journalist, and columnist. In 2020, his first collection of “What Came Before” was published with Tupelo Press. Matthew is fluent in Hebrew. His writing has been published in Haaretz, Tablet, the Forward, and has been anthologized in “America’s Best Nonrequired Reading.”
