Rachel Bearman
Reform Rabbi, Corgi Enthusiast, Creator of Midrash (Biblical Fanfic)
Rabbi Rachel Bearman (She/Her) is an Associate Rabbi at Congregation Shaare Emeth in St. Louis, MO. Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Rabbi Bearman earned her BA from Middlebury College and received her Master of Hebrew Letters and Rabbinical Ordination from Hebrew Union College- Jewish Institute of Religion. Before coming to Shaare Emeth in 2020, she was the rabbi of Temple B’nai Chaim in Georgetown, CT. The heart of her rabbinate is helping individuals and families with diverse backgrounds find meaningful and authentic connections to Jewish tradition.
Rabbi Bearman serves on the board of the Women’s Rabbinic Network and is passionate about making Jewish spaces safe and equitable for people of all genders. She is a big fan of all things related to midrash and is the co-creator and co-author of MidrashicMonologues.com- a project dedicated to exploring the voices of biblical characters who the Jewish tradition has not given the opportunity to speak.
Rabbi Bearman loves to spend time with her corgi, Queen Vashti, family, and friends. Her hobbies include reading, making colorful and mediocre quilts, and genealogy.
